11 Days China Discovery Tour Tour Features: China discovery tour is created to offer the very best of China in a compact itinerary. Travelers will visit the most well-known monuments in Beijing, Xian and Shanghai and see the beautiful landscape of the Li River near Guilin and Yangshuo.

Itinerary:

Day 1. Beijing Arrival

After hours of international flight, you finally arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. Our experienced local guide will meet you at the luggage area and escort you to hotel. Have a good rest for the jetlag.

Day 2. Beijing (B. L)

Morning program takes you to Tian'an Men Square and the Forbidden City. Named a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987, the Forbidden City is probably China's most famous museum. Its famous red walls housed Ming and Qing emperors for nearly 500 years. Multiple galleries displaying portions of the imperial treasure trove. Afternoon sightseeing features the Summer Palace, a summer resort for Empress Dowager Ci Xi.

Day 3. Beijing (B. L)

Enjoy a full day to visit to Ming Tombs (50 miles away from downtown about one hour driving). The thirteen Ming Tombs are the best-preserved Chinese imperial tombs with 500 years history. You will visit Changling, the head and the largest tomb of Ming Tombs, where Emperor Yongle (the first emperor in Beijing) and his Empress Xu were buried. The sightseeing on the Ming Tombs takes about 1 hour. The visit to Ming Tombs finishes at about 10:45.

Before having lunch (11:30 am), you will have 45 minutes for a short visit of Jade Carving Factory. The jade carving is a famous special Chinese product, a blend of the excellent skill on carving and Chinese traditional cultures.

After lunch, driving to the Badaling Great Wall. The hike on Badaling Great Wall takes 2 hours. Badaling section is the most famous and best-preserved wall. Its highest point at Badaling is some 800 meters above sea level. Cable car is available and optional.

Day 4. Being a Beijinger (B, L)

Morning visit the National Museum, flanks the eastern side of Tiananmen Square in Beijing. The museum's mission is to educate about the arts and history of China.

You will be arranged to have lunch with locals in a typical Beijing resident's house. Then you will visit the old Beijing lanes by taking rickshaws. You will visit the typical Chinese quadrangles, primary school, many famous old buildings, like the bell tower, where you can explore the real life of ordinary people in Beijing.

In the evening, transfer to railway station and baord the soft-sleeper train overnight to Xian. (4 people will share one soft-sleeper cabin)

Day 5. Being / Xian (B, L)

In the morning arrive in Xian. Upon arrival, the local guide will meet you at the railway station. After refresh, visit to the Shaanxi History Museum. Here the children can learn China's culture and history by the dynasties order. It is one of the first huge state museums with modern facilities in China. The museum houses over 300,000 items including murals, paintings, pottery, coins, as well as bronze, gold, and silver objects.

And then visit the Gao's Courtyard, traditional Chinese dwelling in the Muslim quarter that belonged to the founder of the successful Gao family, who produced many officials, officers and businessmen.  The courtyard buildings have exhibitions of period furniture, paintings, pottery, porcelain, photos and demonstrations of folk art.

Take a taste of real local snacks at Moslem Street and appreciate the cooking process of the delicious dishes. Appreciate the evening musical fountain show at Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square, the biggest scale one in Asia.

Day 6. Xian / Guilin (B, L)

Full day enjoy the visit to Terra Cotta Army Museum, buried underground to protect the afterlife of Emperor Qinshihuang from 2200 years ago. There are more than 8,000 life-size terra cotta figures of soldiers and horses excavated from this area. They are all displayed in the practical battle formation in 3 pits respectively. The Terra Cotta Army is now regarded as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

Then process to visit Xian City Wall Garden, where you can see local people do sports, play chess, dating, sing and dance there. followed by a wander on the famous Shuyuanmen Culture Street to appreciate the delicate traditional art crafts.

In the evening, fly to Guilin. Upon arrival, check in hotel for rest.

Day 7. Guilin / Yangshuo (B, L)

Appreciate the beauty surrounding Guilin on your Li River Cruise to Yang shuo. You will take an interesting bicycle ride in this charming town to the nearby mountain areas and explore its breathtaking sceneries. Continue to visit the local market and walk through the famous West Street.

Enjoy bicycle riding to explore countryside around the town. Biking through emerald green rice paddies watching the farmers plowing by hand.

Day 8. Yangshuo / Guilin / Shanghai (B, L)

Enjoy a free morning in Yangshuo. You can head to Yulong River and go for a relaxing ride on a bamboo raft on the Yulong river. The skillful crewman uses a long pole to navigate the raft.

Drive to Guilin and visit the lovely Reed Flute Cave. In the evening, fly to Shanghai, the commercial and business center of China.

Day 9. Shanghai (B, L)

A full day city tour will start from Yuyuan Garden for a taste of old Shanghai, Ming style gardens, with pavilions, streams, and pools. Don't miss the huge Dragon Wall (the dragon is protecting the garden), red fish swimming in the Lotus Pool, or the zig-zag Bridge of Nine Turns – the zig-zags foil the demons (who don't turn corners very well). The bazaar has tourist shops where you can buy silk umbrellas, calligraphy, Chinese toys, paper dragons, embroidery.

Take a walk on the Bund, the wide promenade along the Huangpu river. Kids can watch the ships go by on the river, boats large and small, barges and ferries (there are telescopes for closer views). Just imagine the Bund a century ago, teeming with junks and sampans, loading and unloading at the wharves.

The rest of the time will be free for you to shop at Nanjing Road as well as People's Square.

Day 10 Shanghai (B)

Enjoy leisure day on your own.

Day 11 Shanghai departure (B)

According to your flight schedule, the guide will meet you at hotel at appointed time. Transfer to Airport for your flight back home. Your trip ends with lifetime unforgettable memory.
