China Culinary Tour Tour Features: This China Culinary tour will appeal to the discerning food lover with a taste for adventure! You will travel through many cities, each with its own food culture and cuisine. We have carefully designed our tour to include exclusive experiences that best capture the unique food and culinary traditions of each region. In addition to local cuisine tasting, you will learn the art of Chinese cooking at the best local cooking schools.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Arrive in Beijing

Depart on your flight bound for Beijing, the capital of People's Republic of China. Upon your arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

Day 2 Beijing

Full-day tour will begin at the magnificent Forbidden City, home to emperors for over 500-years, you will get the chance to stroll through Tiananmen Square, which is the largest square in the world. Continue to witness the splendor of the Summer Palace, built as a royal garden for Qing Dynasty Emperors. After dinner we will visit the local night food-market at Wangfujing.

Day 3 Beijing

A full-day tour will take in the grandeur of the Eighth Wonder of the World, the Great Wall, built more than 2000 years ago to protect China from northern invaders. On the way back to Beijing stop and visit the sacred Ming Tombs, where 13 emperors of Ming Dynasty were buried.

Day 4 Beijing

After an interesting morning tour to admire the beauty of the Temple of Heaven where the Chinese emperors prayed for good harvest in ancient days, you will proceed to the local cooking school for the Chinese cooking class.

Day 5 Beijing / Qufu

Today you will board the soft-seat train to Qufu, the hometown of Confucius (551-479 B.C.), Arrival and check in the hotel.

Day 6 Qufu

Enjoy a full day visit to the Temple of Confucius, Confucius Mansion and Forest of Confucius. Confucian Temple, the former residence of Confucius, is the place for ancient emperors to offer sacrificial services to Confucius. Now the Confucian temple, mansion and Forest of Confucius are on the UNESCO'S list of world cultural heritage site.

Cuisine Highlight: Qufu Family Banquet

Day 7 Qufu / Jinan / Shanghai

Fly to Shanghai via Jinan, Shanghai is known as the biggest city and commercial heart of People's Republic of China. Enjoy a wonderful tour to Yu Garden, Bund area, former French Concession area, Nanjing Road, known as the No. 1 Shopping Paradise in China.

Day 8 Shanghai / Hangzhou

Drive to Hangzhou today where is known as the Oriental Pearl, the afternoon cooking class is conducted by the local chef specialized in Hangzhou cuisine.

Day 9: Hangzhou / Xian

Enjoy the overwhelming scenery by taking a pleasant boat ride on the most famous West Lake. Continue to see the Huagang Park before being transferred to the airport and fly onto Xian. Arrival and transferred to your hotel.

Day 10 Xian

A full day excursion to the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang guarded by the famous Terracotta Army, 7000 life-size clay statues each individually crafted, complete with chariots and horses. Then go to Huaqing Hot Spring. On the way back to Xian, visit 6000-year-old Neolithic village remain in Banpo Museum.

Day 11 Xian / Chengdu

After a city tour to 600-year-old Ming Dynasty City Wall and majestic Wild Goose Pagoda, you will fly to Chengdu and check in your hotel.

Day 12: Chengdu

Full-day tour brings you to the ancient irrigation system at Dujiangyan and Giant Panda Breeding & Research Centre. The Dujiangyan Irrigation system is a miracle of ancient Chinese ingenuity. The Giant Panda base created a perfect ecological environment for the living and breeding of pandas and other precious and rare wild animals.

Day 13 Chengdu / Guilin

In this morning, you will be transferred to the airport and fly to the most scenic city of Guilin, arrival and followed by an afternoon tour to Reed Flute Cave. Reed Flute Cave got its name because people believed that the reed by the cave's mouth could be made into flutes. Check into the local hotel tonight.

Day 14 Guilin

Experience a leisure cruise tour along the scenic Li River, and then visit the local villages by bike. Check into the local hotel tonight. Li River is the soul of Guilin scenery. It is the river of poems and paintings. The region covers 83-km karst area with clear, exotic, ingenious and changing characteristics.

Cuisine Highlight: Guilin Beer-brewed Fish

Day 15 Guilin / Guangzhou

Fly to Guangzhou today, after a city tour to the major attractions, you will check in the hotel.

Cuisine Highlight: Cantonese Dim Sum Banquet

Day 16 Guangzhou / Hong Kong

Board the soft-seat train to Hong Kong, arrival and check in the hotel. In this afternoon, you will attend a cooking class at one of the most well-known local cooking school.

Cuisine Highlight: Farewell Dinner at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant

Day 17 Depart

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your homeward flight.

1. Hotel accommodations with daily Western / American Buffet breakfast. The hotel accommodation is based on two persons sharing one twin room with private facilities.
