Built in 1997, the forest Zoo is located at Baiyunyanshui Scenic Area. The zoo is the beautiful national tourist spot in the south of Dalian, which covers an area of 7.2 square kilometers and boasts the biggest zoo in North China. The whole zoo is divided into six parts: herbivorous animals site, lions and tiger hill, black orangutans garden, monkey hill, bear hill, and Asian-elephant place. The Zoo exhibits about 130 kinds of animals. The Integrated District contains pandas, lesser pandas, flamingos, and etc. Three viaducts connect the South section with North section. There are sightseeing trains in the Zoo. Other facilities include places for food, children amusement places, prams, cars for the disabled visitors. Public phones are accessible in the Zoo.
