Anshun is located in the western part of the Miaoling Mountains. Since ancient times it has formed a hub between Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces. It is said that Anshun is "the abdomen of Guizhou, the throat of Yunnan and the lips and teeth of Sichuan and Guangdong province." Thanks to construction during the past few years, Anshun has a modern traffic system and serves as an important traffic hub for the provincial highways, with roads running from the center of the city to every county.
By Air
The Huangguoshu Airport in Anshun is located about 6km south of the city proper. It has direct flights to Beijing, Dalian, Qingdao and Kunming.
By Train
The railway station is near the South Bus Station on the Nanhua Road. It links Anshun with other cities in Guizhou Province, and the rest of the country, through the Chuanqian, Xiangqian, Qiangui and Guikun railways.
By Taxi
Metered taxies are found everywhere in the city. Most taxis charge a base fare of RMB3 during the day and RMB8 at night, with an additional RMB 1.2 per km.
By Bicycle
It is not convenient to ride bicycles because of hilly conditions.
