Qingdao Aquarium was built in 1932 and was the earliest one in Asia. The aquarium's rich exhibits provide the visitors an opportunity to explore the mysterious marine world. Now there are four independent exhibition halls: the Aquarium, Marine Beasts Performance Hall, Precious & Rare Aquatic Animals Hall and Freshwater Fishes Hall, and each showcasing species from all over the world: sharks, penguins, sea otters, white dolphins, green sea tortoise and even fish from Amazon River. In the resent 70 years, as a resort of Qingdao, although remedied and extended several times, Qingdao Aquarium still remains its original appearance to welcome guests both from home and abroad.
