By Air

Nanjing International Airport, Nanjing Transportation, Nanjing Travel GuideNanjing Lukou International Airport is located 35.8 kilometers away from the downtown city. There are several daily flights from Nanjing to Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Wuhan, and Hong Kong and several weekly flights to Xi'an, Chengdu, Zhengzhou and Hangzhou. Shuttle buses run every 30 minutes from 7am-6pm, for RMB 25 between the airport and the city. The cost of a taxi from the airport to the downtown city is about RMB 100-120.

By Train

Located in the northern part of the city proper, Nanjing railway station is the second largest railway station in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It's the starting point of the Ninghong and Ningjin Lines and connects with Jinghu, Jinpu, Huning, Ningtong and Wangan Lines. All major cities in China can be reached by train from Nanjing.

By Boat

Nanjing boasts the largest inland international port in China. It connects with the ports in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River, as well as to 188 foreign ports in 78 countries and regions by liners, including Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, etc.

By Taxi

Like many major cities in China, taxis in Nanjing are everywhere and metered. They can take you anywhere you want to visit. The price varies according to the size of the taxi. Generally the base fare is RMB 7, each additional km RMB 2.1-2.4.

By Bicycle

Most hotels have bicycles for rent, RMB 15-30 per day with RMB 400 or passport for deposit.
