Longsheng Transportation

Longsheng Town is situated in a densely forested area of over 2400 square kilometers and has a population of 160,000 people. It is surrounded by mountains on four sides and lies 100 kilometers north of Guilin, in the area where the Heping and Sang Rivers meet.

To get to Longsheng, take the coach from the general coach station in Guilin. There are frequent buses leaving from 6.50 a.m. to 5.20 p.m. For travelers heading for the dragon's backbone rice terraces, take the common coach (instead of the direct coach) and transfer to Dazhai Village at Heping Village. Within the county, there are regular buses to the scenic spots, towns and villages of Longsheng and nearby counties.

There are regular tours to Longsheng and the nearby dragon's backbone rice terraces from Guilin or Yangshuo; this is one of the standard tours offered at those places. In Longsheng you have to change busses to Long Ji Ping An rice terraces or to the hot springs.
