13 Days China Middle Kingdom Tour

Day 01 Arrive in Beijing

Depart on your flight bound for Beijing, the capital of People's Republic of China. Upon your arrival, you will be met and transferred to four star hotel.( Time permitted, you will go visiting at Temple of Heaven and Tiananmen Square)

Day 02 Beijing (B, D)

A full-day tour will take in the grandeur of the Eighth Wonder of the World, the Badaling Great Wall, built more than 2000 years ago to protect China from northern invaders. On the way back to Beijing, you can take pictures at Bird’s Nest and Water Cube. In the evening, you will enjoy a 3-hour walking tour covering Wangfujing Snack Street, Imperial City Park, Bell Tower and Drum Tower, Nanluoguxiang Hutong, Yandaixiejie Hutong, Houhai Lake. There you will witness what it looks like in Beijing evening.

Day 03 Beijing / Shanghai (B, D)

In this morning, you will pay a visit to Forbidden City, home to emperors for over 500-years. In the afternoon, you will admire the beauty of Summer Palace, built as a royal garden for Qing Dynasty Emperors. After having Beijing Toast Duck for dinner, then you will be transferred to the railway station and board the overnight soft-sleeper train to Shanghai.

Day 04 Shanghai (B, D)

Arriving in Shanghai this morning, after a short rest and breakfast in the hotel you will visit Yu Garden at the Old Quarter built by the Pan family in the Ming Dynasty. Now it has been restored and become one of the most popular tourist sights in Shanghai. Nearby is the Temple of City God which is a perfect place for tasting Shanghai local food. And then you will have a walking tour around the Bunds, Oriental Pearl, Nanjing Road, the historical street comparable to a Chinese Wall Street where tourists can get a taste of the Shanghai high-life.

Day 05 Shanghai / Wuzhen (B, D)

In the morning, you will go around People’s Square, one of the three main city centers. After appreciating cultural relics including Bronze Ware, Ceramics, Calligraphy, Paintings in Shanghai Museum, you will transfer to Water Town Wuzhen. There you will enjoy natural night beauty of water town at West Gate. You will spend a comfortable night at local civilian residence by the water.

Day 06 Wuzhen / Suzhou (B, D)

Compared to last night, morning sightseeing at East Gate will be equally impressive to you. After a relaxing stroll around by yourself for three hours, you will be transferred to Suzhou in an air-conditioned vehicle. Guanqian Street is a paradise of fashion and food. Continue to visit the Garden of the Master of Nets, one of the smallest (at little more than one acre) yet considered one of the best designed and most elegant of the private gardens still extant.

Day 07 Suzhou/Luoyang (B)

In the morning, you will visit Linger Garden, praised as one of the nation's four famous gardens. Then comes Tiger Hill scenic zone, which was a symbolic sightseeing in Suzhou. In the afternoon, be ready to transfer to railway station and board the overnight soft-sleeper train to Luoyang.

Day 08 Luoyang (B, D)

Arriving in Luoyang this morning, after a short break and breakfast in the hotel, start a full day visit at Shaolin Temple, where the Kongfu is originated from. And now the temple has gained the fame worldwide as "No.1 famous temple in China".

Day 09 Luoyang / Xian (B, D)

In the morning, you will be shown around Longmen Buddhism Grottoes, one of the famous four grottoes in China. It provides a large number of historical data for studying ancient religion, fine arts, architecture, calligraphy, music, dress, as well as medicine. Then you will be transferred to Xi’an in 1.5-2 hours at High-speed train. In the late afternoon, Walking around Xi’an City Wall and Muslin’s Quarter is much favorable.

Day 10 Xi’an / Pingyao (B, D)

This is a Xi’an full day tour. You will visit the burial site of an incredible army of 8000 lifelike Terra-cotta soldiers, which are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. In the afternoon, musical fountain at Wild Goose Pagoda Square is a feast to eyes and ears. In the evening, after a dumpling feast you will be transferred to railway station and board the overnight soft-sleeper train to Pingyao.

Day 11  Pingyao (B, D)

Arriving in Pingyao, you will start a full day explore the ancient city of Pingyao. Walking on the city wall and wandering in ancient shops makes you feel that you are back to Chinese ancient history. In the afternoon, you are free to enjoy what you are doing inside the old city. After having Shanxi local cuisine as dinner, there is an optional biking tour for you.

Day 12 Pingyao / Beijing (B, D)

In the morning, you will start a cultural experience at Wang Family’s Compound, which is a symbol of civilian residence in Qing Dynasty and have been preserved much well. Then you will be transferred to Taiyuan and go back to Beijing at hi-speed train.

Day 13 Beijing (B)

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your homeward flight and complete the most beneficial China Historical Tour.
