Hello Eric,
We had a very busy time last 14 days. Sorry for answering your mail so late.
We had a wonderful time in Yunnan. Everything was OK.
1. The guides were OK . Wang was very good. He was very polite and friendly. He did everything to please us. Chong was like a teacher: he knew a lot.
2. The driver was the best of whole Yunnan: excellent! Thanks to Wang!!
3. The hotels were too good! We are not used to sleep in such rich hotels. The most we liked the small house in Shaxi, but we know that this kind of hostels is new in China. What we appreciated a lot is that the hotels where situated always near the old city. That was important for us.
4. The food was excellent but it was always too much!!! But we have enjoyed it.
5. We learned a lot about the religions of the country, the people were very friendly, nature was beautiful, especially the Earth Forest.
6. So, we don’t have much negative to tell, except that we did too many kilometers with the car (3500km!). So the journey was a little bit too far: we didn’t know all the interesting points were so far in distance. Especially Nuodeng was a long trip. We liked the village of course, but it was too far!

We visited the Shanghai Zoo first. Traveling on the roads in Shanghai is a bit of nightmare because of the amount of traffic, but our driver was good and we always felt safe in the van. The zoo was interesting and we opted to stay at the zoo longer, so we missed the opportunity to see some other sites. A bit disappointing, but it was our choice. We then went to central Shanghai, ate dinner and went to a Chinese acrobat performance.
We were dropped at the airport with plenty of time to catch our 1 am flight. It was a long day, but overall a very good glimpse at Shanghai. Karen (travel coordinator) was responded quickly and checked up on us to be sure that everything went smoothly. We would recommend using CCT for travelling in China.
