Both the Yangpu and Nanpu bridges across the Yangtze River were built in the 90th in last century. They play an important role in the city transportation by connecting Shanghai old city and Pudong area. Both are of the double cable-stayed suspension type with a long span. They are 7,658 and 8,346 meters long respectively, among the longest bridges of the world. The two bridges are the world's fourth longest and largest cable-stayed suspension bridges. Both of them have sidewalks and elevators for visitors. The opening hours are from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. for Yangpu Bridge and 8.30 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. (June to September), 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. (October to May) for Nanpu Bridge.
