I'm sorry about the delay in responding. We had a great time in China, and were very pleased with China tours and the professional and informative way in which all matters were handled. All of our guides, Cherry, Jessica, and Tracy, were very knowledgeable, and very efficient in taking us to the many sites, explaining the key points of interest, and looking after our comfort in the hot weather. They and the drivers were likewise efficient and punctual for both tour events and getting us to and from airports. Cherry immediately made us feel welcome in China, and her warmth was much appreciated after a 14 hour flight to arrive. Jessica was extremely knowledgeable about Xian and about the history of China more generally, and we learned a lot from her. Although we of course knew about the Terracotta soldiers before our visit, we were greatly impressed with all of the additional history in Xian -- from the Big Wild Goose Pagoda to the Bell Towers, City Wall, mosque, museum, and the importance and accomplishments of the Tang dynasty. The Tang era show at our hotel was also entertaining and impressive. We were only sorry that the Tang tombs are so far from the city, as not to be easily visited. We also appreciated hearing Jessica's observations about life in contemporary China. Having a couple of free days during the tour was also nice, and we enjoyed walking through hutongs in Beijing and visiting the China History Museum in Tianamen Square, as well as the Shanghai Financial Center and the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and some local markets. Taking the subway in Beijing with its frequent and very crowded trains was also interesting. Finally, we appreciated the care that China Tours took in meeting the vegetarian needs of our family, and the care that you personally took in planning our trip and meeting with us in Xian about how things were going.
