Michael: This is just a quick update!
I plan to take the time to write to you a long personal thank you letter. I would like you to have a very nice letter of recommendation for your file. I would also be delighted to be a reference for you for anyone in the United States. You provided us excellent service, and I would be happy to state this in writing for you.
Perhaps this weekend, I will also have more time to sit and tell you about all the tour guides in each city. Each one was wonderful and very special. I would very much like to tell you about Mary in Shanghai and Robert in Beijing. They made our trip so wonderful and memorable. All of the guides were excellent, but these two individuals touched our hearts and left us with lasting memories of your country.
As I understand the process, you worked through Robert and Mary's companies -- so, I would like you to know that the individual service we received from them was excellent -- so you might recommend these specific individuals again to other Americans. I know that there were some challenges with us...and, we appreciate all the care and extra attention we received.
Also, I have some questions about contact with our tour guides. I have their email addresses and would like to write to them -- to personally to thank them and share pictures, etc.
I was also wondering if I might also send them via mail small gift packages from the United States? Would their mail be opened by a censor or a supervisor? I want to be sure that they would receive it. Obviously, I have never sent mail to China. How does this process work? What would you recommend?
Again, thank you again for all that you did to make our trip amazing. I will compose a beautiful thank you letter for your file. I just wanted you to know we had returned safely, and we were delayed because we were still recovering!
Kind regards,
Diane G. Oaks
